South Africa: The Perfect Score in Platter's 2026

The new Platter’s Wine Guide (the bible for South African wine) has distributed its coveted 5-star ratings. Only a fraction of the wines achieve this score (95+ points).

Paul Clüver Family Wines: A phenomenal achievement for their cool-climate wines from Elgin. The Seven Flags Pinot Noir 2023 and the Estate Pinot Noir 2024 both received the maximum 5 stars.

Boekenhoutskloof: The iconic status is confirmed with 5 stars for both the Syrah 2023, the Cabernet Sauvignon 2023, and the new Goldmine.

Reyneke: Pioneer in biodynamics, awarded 5 stars for the impressive Reyneke Reserve Red 2023.

International critics have published their first reports for 2026:

Jordan Winery: The Cobblers Hill 2022 was rated a magnificent 96 points by Tim Atkin.

Montes: The legendary Montes Alpha M 2023 received a top score of no less than 96-97 points from James Suckling.

Paul Clüver: Also successful here with the Village Pinot Noir 2024 (90 pts).
